CHALLENGES
The Aston CRISIS Centre needed both an online and offline presence. The website would serve as a means to promote and present research findings, disseminate information and gain new interest for projects. Offline print collateral would invoke awareness of the Centre.
Furthermore, colours and branding were required as the Centre had no specific colours or a logo. Additionally, the staff were looking to consolidate various projects under the identity of the Aston CRISIS Centre. However, they were not clear on how to present and structure this, both from a technical but also from a design and communication perspective. Finally, Aston CRISIS Centre were interested in improving the communication with project participants across the European Union and ensuring that project related information could be shared easily.

SERVICES DELIVERED
Showtime Studios developed Aston CRISIS Centre’s message both online and offline. Website design and print design elements were required to create an appropriate image and identity for the research centre. Through captivating artwork, the communication of the Centre to funders, researchers, universities, students and other interested and relevant parties was enhanced.
A custom website was designed with striking red and orange colours to convey the safety and security theme of the centre. An exciting, impactful logo was designed. The logo incorporated the Aston University triangle, which was effectively used as brand extension for the Aston CRISIS Centre.
Various projects such as ERGO (Evacuation Responsiveness by Government Organisations) required to be presented as part of the Centre albeit maintain their individual identity. Showtime Studios effectively integrated these projects within the Aston CRISIS Centre website, using separate colours and navigation to design and structure these projects.
Secure discussion forums and file sharing functionalities were created to ensure the staff of Aston CRISIS were able to collaborate and share resources and findings. The aim was to create a closer community between the participants of the Aston CRISIS Centre.
